Engine – JMR hillclimb/race spec 1800 8v, Cosworth forged pistons, steel H-section conrods, standard 1800 crank, ex-hot rod big valve head, 318 degree JMR race/hillclimb/sprint spec cam, 48 DCO-SP Weber carbs, 4-1 Ashley manifold, Supersprint 2.5 inch twinbox system.
Power – 164hp at the wheels (193hp at the flywheel) @ 7,500-7,900.
Performance – 131mph @ 7,800rpm..... 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds (on the current gearing).
Transmission – GTI gearbox, fitted with a 1.94 2nd gear and a 4.25 final drive with a Quaife ATB differential. Helix 4-paddle clutch, lightened standard type flywheel.
Steering & Suspension – Quaife quickrack, JMR tubular lower arms & tierods, standard GTi front anti-roll bar, Eibach rear anti-roll bar, Bilstein Rallye front dampers with 2-1/4 400Ib springs, Spax rear dampers with standard diameter 250Ib springs.
Brakes – Standard GTI front callipers spaced with JMR brackets, 270mm discs, Ferrodo DS3000 pads, standard rear drums and shoes, bias adjustable brake pedal box.
Wheels & Tyres – Pirelli P-slot wheels with Yokohama AO48 supersoft tyres.
Body/Interior – Original 1983 1800 GTI, fibreglass bonnet & tailgate, lightweight front seats, carpet and soundproofing removed. Weighing in at 750kgs.
Highlights – Competition... 1st overall 2007 ASWMC hillclimb championship, 1st overall 2004 Devon speed championship, 2nd overall 2005 Devon sprint championship, many class wins & class records broken between 2004-2007 (which still currently stand).
Trackday... various scalps taken... BMW M3 Evo, Mitsubishi Evo 8, Civic Type R.
